29th June 2011

Long time Muffin member Jim Batt sadly died on the 29th June 2011.  Jim’s generosity and willing help will be much missed in the Club and in the wider Battle Community.
Battle Bellringers paid their own tribute to Jim with a Quarter Peal in his memory on the 17th July - as photographed here with Jim Batt in insert. Battle Bellringers  have recently been given £250.00 by Battle Muffins for the refurbishment of the Bell Ringing Chamber.

The event, organised by Hastings Runners, contributed £110.00 into the Muffin Charity Fund.  Muffins' assisted alongside other voluntary organisations enabled this team event to take place.  Over 200 runners took part including one team from the USA.

It is possible that the event willbe repeated in future years.

Musical Evening on the 26th February

An outstandingly successful musical evening on the 26th February raised over £700.00 for St Michael’s Hospice.
Ninety contestants packed the Battle Guide Hall to capacity for an evening of 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s nostalgia.
The Godwin table came out winners in the mind-cudgelling competition to name the artists and songs from a compilation put together by David Amos and Maurice Palmer.

The Cook table, as the “Village People” were the stars of the themed dress attendance.
